They did mention that ride designers are very highly sought after... it's not a positive news, as it would imply higher staff costs. Kingsmen does not have a department of ride designers and hires them on free lance basis.

Kingsmen probably already has an established working relationship with a freelance team which they will tap on for such projects. While it is true that such staff costs will rise (as with other staff costs to keep pace with inflation), the positive aspect is that rides are in demand and therefore theme parks will require more of Kingsmen's services to overhaul, refurbish and revamp the rides. This should result in more recurring income over the next 5 years or so.

After reading the 2 newsletters, there is no doubt in my mind that Kingsmen has highly inspired and creative people who are competent and capable to deliver mutli-faceted work and projects.

It is indeed heartening to know that Kingsmen employs good designers and staff of high capabilities (and creativity too)! It is this constant innovation and exchange of ideas which will help propel the Group to its next phase of growth, both locally and regionally.

That said, I am also waiting for some news on their theme park projects bidding, said to occur around 2Q-3Q 2011 for some parcels of work. I believe Kingsmen will provide an update during the 1H FY 2011 press release and financial results review.

It's good to know the business is chugging along fine, and generating good cash flows to boot. I am also looking forward to the usual interim dividend of 1.5c/share to be declared in August 2011 and paid in Sep 2011. Smile

The Chelsea Premium Outlet in Johor, to be opened in third quarter 2011, should provide Kingsmen with lots of business opportunities.

Anyone has an idea who is fitting out the 2 new flagship stores for H&M and Abercrombie & Fitch that are coming up along Orchard Road?....

I guess as usual Kingsmen will stand a good chance in winning such projects of high-end retail stores.

I suppose Kingsmen could have also fitted out the new 20,800 s.f. Robinson store - named "Intimates By Robinsons" - down at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands....

Hi dydx,

You sure about this? Do you know if this was done in FY 2011 or last year? My impression was that most of the Marina Bay Sands Shoppes were already fitted out, thus Interiors Division may experience a "void" for 2011.

Thanks.

The 2 new Robinsons outlets at The Shoppes at Marina Bay sands - Intimates By Robinsons (located at B2-02) and What R You? (located at B2-09) - only opened for business last Month (Jun11), so the fitting out work should have been down this year. Assuming a rough cost estimate of $150/sf, the fitting out of the 2 outlets could cost Robinsons $4.0 to $5.0m. We know from past record, Robinsons is a long-standing customer of Kingsmen.

I suppose you can just call up your contact in Kingsmen to check on this. You may also want to ask him on H&M and Abercrombie & Fitch.
