  kingpin9's sharing of trading philosophy
Posted by: kingpin9 - 26-08-2014, 10:58 AM - Forum: Others - Replies (14)

My teacher, "The greatest speculator ever lived" Mr. Jesse Livermore once said:

A stock is never too high to buy and never too low to short

And please remember that stocks are never too high for you to begin buying or too low to begin selling

Never sell a stock because it seems high-priced

Big movements take time to develop

It is not good to be too curious about all the reasons behind price movements

With the recent dedication by one member to find out which buddies invest in and Cyclone announcing his holdings, I have decided to follow suit.

My investing philo is more rojak, where i use free cashflow, RNAV and future earnings of the counter valuation to find my gems. Some of my single positions do exceed 20%, wont tell you which counter they are :p

As of today, I hold these counters:
Sing Holdings
Penguin
KSH
Fischer
Hotung
TTJ
GP Batteries
YZJ

PS: Can Mod help me rename the title of my thread from "ortfoilo" to "portfolio". I spelled it wrongly

I have long wanted to pen out my investment journey. Having tried focus approach and after much musings and in consideration of other personal and family factors, I think a diversified portfolio is more suitable for me. Single stock position will not more than 10% now. No short sells as I'm not familiar with it.

What I aim for is "do not lose money" and "a satisfactory return" as Benjamin Graham defined it. An investment operation is one which, upon thorough analysis, promises safety of principal and a satisfactory return.

As of today, I hold these counters :
1. AZTECH GROUP
2. CH OFFSHORE
3. CHUAN HUP HOLDINGS
4. CHINA MERCHANTS HOLDINGS (PACIFIC)
5. DYNA-MAC HOLDINGS
6. ELEC & ELTEK
7. ENGRO CORPORATION
8. ENVICTUS INTERNATIONAL HOLDINGS
9. FALcon ENERGY GROUP
10. FRASERS CENTREPOINT LIMITED
11. FORTERRA TRUST
12. GLOBAL INVESTMENTS LIMITED
13. HOTEL GRAND CENTRAL
14. HOTUNG INVESTMENT HOLDINGS
15. IFS CAPITAL
16. KARIN TECHNOLOGY HLDGS
17. KEPPEL T&T
18. LOW KENG HUAT (SINGAPORE)
19. LUXKING GROUP HOLDINGS
20. METRO HOLDINGS
21. MFS TECHNOLOGY
22. MICRO-MECHANICS (HOLDINGS)
23. NERATELECOMMUNICATIONS
24. NEW TOYO
25. PCI
26. PEC
27. SAN TEH
28. SIA ENGINEERING
29. SINGAPORE REINSURANCE CORPORATION
30. St****** CORPORATION
31. TAI SIN ELECTRIC
32. UMS HODINGS
33. WILLAS-ARRAY ELECTRONICS

On a single stock basis, some are in the red. But on the portfolio basis, it still performs satisfactorily.

Death Sentences in Chinese Gangland Case Upheld

Death Sentences in Chinese Gangland Case Upheld

A Chinese appeals court on Thursday upheld a death sentence for former mining tycoon Liu Han and a clutch of associates convicted earlier this year in a sensational gangland crime case.

Mr. Liu, a onetime billionaire who controlled privately held conglomerate Sichuan Hanlong Group, was sentenced in May along with his brother and more than 30 other associates for running a mafia-style gang that used murder, extortion and bid-rigging to enrich themselves to pay for luxurious lifestyles. In Thursday’s decision, the Hubei Provincial Higher People’s Court said it upheld the lower court’s death sentences for some of the accused and lengthy jail terms for others.

In a statement, the court said that “clear facts and complete evidence” uphold the lower court’s conclusion that Mr. Liu was responsible for “organizing and leading a gang, intentional homicide and assault, illegal detention, blackmail, illegal possession and trading of guns and ammunition, and defrauding banks, establishing illegal gambling centers, harboring criminal suspect, etc.”

Death sentences in China are automatically appealed to the country’s Supreme Court. While China has taken active steps to limit the number of convicts executed annually,

Dear bros and sisters:

My friend need to publish a file on a SECURE website that is anoynmous and generate a URL link so that viewers can play the file uploaded. Something like the dropbox URL.

The author's identity cannot be disclosed or probed.

Any safe confidential hosting sites? Must it be from US only?

MH17 crash: Pressure grows on Russia over crash inquiry.

Western countries have demanded that Russia put pressure on Ukrainian rebels to allow unhindered access to the site of Thursday's Malaysia Airlines crash.

Dutch PM Mark Rutte said he had told Russian President Vladimir Putin that time was "running out" to show he could help. Most crash victims were Dutch.

The US and Britain also told Russia full access to the area was needed.

International observers have had their movements restricted by pro-Russia militiamen who control the crash site.

Both Ukraine and the pro-Russian rebels have accused each other of shooting down the Boeing 777, which was flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur.

Flight MH17 was reportedly hit by a missile over a rebel-held area in Donetsk region on Thursday. All 298 people on board died.
