Hidden within ths SGX announcement is the following "SGX will be waiving ETF clearing fees for both institutional and retail investors from 1 June 2015 to 31 December 2015."

Has any VBuddies done any ETF trades this month and can confirm that the clearing fees is indeed waived?

I find it strange that there is no publicity regarding this ETF promotion, unlike the "$10 min brokerage for smaller board lots promotion", so just wanna confirm.

Thanks.

In reality the clearing fee is a very small one, to place it in perspective, it is 0.05% of transaction value.

For example, if we buy 100 units of STI ETF @ 3.39, the clearing fee is 16.95 cents and it is really insignificant against the transaction value of 339 SGD.

I can confirm this as I did a trade on STI ETF day before yesterday

I am not an investment professional.

I encourage you to do your own independent "due diligence" on any idea that I write about, because I could be and probably am wrong.

Nothing written here is an invitation to buy or sell any particular stock.

At most, I am handing out an educated guess as to what the markets may do.

The market will always find a new way to make a fool out of me (and maybe, even you!).

Even the best strategies of the past fail, sometimes spectacularly, when you least expect it.

I am not immune to that, so please understand that any past success of mine will probably be followed by failures
